This Entrepreneurial Story is about Two Entrepreneurs who Founded ‘Work N Hire’ located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh

Team Introduction 

• Kumar Mukul – Graduation-IIT Kharagpur B.Tech 2008.

Worked at Headstrong in India with Manish Prakash. They both then set up Excellence Technologies as Co-Founder in August 2009 .  As the Co-Founder for Work N Hire, Mukul oversees all the marketing and sales aspect of Work N Hire. He is also actively involved in the development of Work N Hire. Mukul is an avid sports fan and was actively involved in table tennis and hockey during his school and college days.

•  Manish Prakash – Graduation-IIT  Guwahati  B.Tech 2008. 

Manish spent his early years in Delhi. He has a total of 4 year of work experience, of which 3 year of work experience is on web development, mainly eCommerce websites. Manish, a programming guru has been the chief mentor at Excellence Technologies. As the Co-Founder, Manish helps out with the technical aspect of Work N Hire. He is also the lead developer and the chief architect for Work N Hire. An avid sports enthusiast, Manish has played at the National level Table Tennis for Delhi. He loves spending time reading and learning all about new technologies.

What Motivated you to start your Business?

We decided to start Work N Hire 8 months back looking at the Freelancing Market in India and internet boom in India. The main motivation behind Work N Hire was to create a platform to promote & grow the Indian freelancing market. Indian freelancing market is in a very nascent stage and we think that there is a lot of potential but it needs to be properly structured and presented to both freelancers and employers.

Tell us about your Business

Work N Hire is an Online Marketplace for India where employers can post project of all shapes and sizes related to fields like Web Development, Content Writing, SEO, Web Design, Graphic Design and Many more. On the other side are the numerous contractors (individuals/companies) with specific skill who will be submitting a proposal for these Projects. The employer has the option to choose the best proposal that suits their needs and hire them online. The role of Work N Hire doesn’t end here, we further have a project management system in place with Billing and Invoices integrated for online payments with safety. Our Escrow system ensures safe payments for both the parties involved.

What is a Day in a life of you like?

Being a startup everyday is a new challenge for the Work N Hire team. At the present moment we are focused on two main aspects, Development and Marketing. The day goes by performing numerous tasks related to the site, starting from brainstorming ideas for new features on the site to how to reach out to the potential customers.

One particular skill you got right and gave you best results.

We were always good at technical aspect of the business something which we think is really an important aspect on our site. It has helped us create an application which can be scaled up and allows us to provide numerous features for our customers.

What have been your biggest challenges in running your Business so far?

The biggest challenge so far has been the marketing and promotion of the site. Being a startup reaching out to our potential customers and spreading the word about the site is one of the major challenge we face.

How did you overcome these challenges?

The hard work being put in by the team along with a focused approach to marketing, with numerous plans being implemented at the same time has helped us overcome these challenges.

What have you found the most effective way to get new clients?

One of the most effective ways to get new clients in our business has proved to be the Social Media marketing. We have had quite a bit of traffic through the Social Media Channels. The website and its ease of use remain other driving factor in converting the clients.

What advice do you give to other business owners?

In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure. So never be afraid of the failure, the happiness you get from the success is worth taking the risk.

How did you keep yourself motivated through difficult times?

Our team has always believed in hard work and sticking together during the difficult times keeps us going. We have always thought that one can win with patience, perseverance and hard work something which keeps us motivated at all times.

Whats your Marketing, Funding and Team Building Strategy

• Our Marketing strategy revolves mostly around online marketing at the moment. We are focusing on Social Media Marketing and Search Engine Optimization to start with.
• As for funding the initial capital has been put in by the co-founders.
• For team building we are looking to hire and retain great talent in the fields of web development and marketing.

Your Achievements

Our biggest achievement till date has been our customer base. We have had more than 7500+ registrations in less than 3 months of our launch and around 300 posted projects.
