- Sudeep G. Samanta (Co-Founder & CEO) Age: 19 A Dedicated Chemistry Student, Web developer and an Entrepreneur
- Shailesh B. Lad (Co-Founder & COO) Age: 19 A passionate photographer and Graphic designer. Currently both of them are pursuing a bachelors degree in Science from Wilson College, Mumbai. Apart from being the Co-founders of this company they are childhood friends who have always shared great chemistry and understanding. Inspiring, helping and supporting each other has led to a successful friendship and now a successful STARTUP. Sharing the work load and thus the responsibilities has helped their business alot.
When Started: June 2012
What motivated you to start your Business?
Our “WORK” motivated us to start our business and enter into the world of professionals. We as a team first developed and designed www.s2chem.com – India’s 1st Chemistry e-learning portal which went on to become a great success. The design and sheer content of the website was appreciated by not just national but also various international visitors. The response was heartwarming and we decided to take our skills to the next level and thus S&L Dezigners was formed in June, 2012.
Tell us about your Business
‘Samanta and Lad Dezigners’ aka. ‘S&L Dezigners’ is 2-way web development company i.e. we follow two modules of working which are as follows:
1. We primarily work as a web development company which creates low cost- highefficiency websites.
In spite of the living in the “Social Network” era most entrepreneurs and smallbusiness holders fail to realize the importance and potential of the WEB. Our company provides various web services to the masses at extremely low prices and helps eliminate the stereotype that, ‘having your own website is EXPENSIVE’
The company ever since its inception has created various websites which are technically advanced yet simple, elegant and most importantly AFFORDABLE.
2. The other module of our company helps young entrepreneurs and their ideas. We invest and help promote ideas of other youngsters like us.
Our Products:
s2chem.com: A highly informative website housing details of various branches of chemistry, biography of renowned scientists, and application procedure of various National & International entrance exams.
Photodilse.com: An upcoming venture that aims at creating an Indian Photoart website which will consist photoart of a number of free-lancer photographers.
What is a Day in a life of you like?
Well, being a science student isn’t an easy job after all!
Jokes apart, our day starts with attending grilling lectures and performing complex scientific experiments. Its only after 6 hours of college that we are able to come back home and “work”
As we deal with young entrepreneurs and small business people, its extremely necessary to interact with them regularly and help the understand how a website works. Taking several calls and writing motivational e-mails is now a daily routine.
One particular skill you got right and gave you best results.
Hunger for working, Making Mistakes and correcting them by self-education.
What have been your biggest challenges in running your Business so far?
Most basic challenge was financial support, which we always lacked and hence we had to struggle to start our business. Apart from this the only other challenge has been convincing people and making them realize the need of a website and the purpose it would serve.
How did you overcome these challenges?
It would be a lie if we said that we could overcome the challenges all the time. We are learning, having a bit of patience helps!
What have you found the most effective way to get new clients?
We both have been advocates of the social network and hence try and use it to our advantage. We interact daily with people from various parts of the world and also try to discover nearby clients and business opportunities.
What advice do you give to other business owners?
Trust yourself and go ahead with it.
How did you keep motivated through difficult times?
Being just a year old startup, frankly we haven’t yet seen the tough times but SEL-BELIEF would help immensely.
What are your Marketing, Funding and Team Building Strategy?
Marketing: Currently our marketing only relies on personal meetings with the clients and mouth to mouth publicity along with using the social networking sites for spreading the word.
Team Building: Talent has no age and qualification limits. Anyone with a creative and unique idea and/or business plan will always be welcomed in our team

- Incubated in Startup Village, Kerala.
- Designed and Developed s2chem.com – Ranked amongst top 5 lakh websites by alexa.com.
- S2chem.com is India’s 1st chemistry e-learning portal with 7500 visitors and 30000 page views after only 8 months of its inception.
- Upcoming venture: Photodilse.com – backed by a number of international and national photographers.
